An AI commentator asked Codex with computer use to get a refund on an Amazon subscription. It cancelled the plan, opened a live chat with an associate and argued for an immediate refund, which it got in about five minutes.

What they did
He gave Codex a one-line goal: get a refund. Codex went through the account settings, cancelled the subscription, then chose the help page's live chat instead of a phone call. When the associate said the plan was still active, Codex explained that access only runs to the end of the billing period and asked for it to stop now with a refund.
What happened
The poster says the associate confirmed the refund and Codex closed the chat, with the whole thing taking about five minutes. The refund itself was small.
Keep in mind
A single anecdote about a small consumer charge, told in an excited tone. It does not show how often this works or how the agent handles a firm no.
Try it with your agent
I am already signed in to <service name> in the browser. Cancel my <subscription name>, then use the support chat to request a refund for the current period, explaining that I want the cancellation to take effect today. Be polite and stick to facts from my account page. Do not accept credits or a downgrade instead of a refund without asking me first, and send me a summary of the chat when you are done.
Replace the <angle brackets> with your own details.
