NBC News tested Perplexity Comet on everyday errands; it compared gym prices across open tabs and eventually booked a gym tour, but first claimed a booking it had not made.

What they did
The reporter asked Comet to schedule a gym visit, compare membership prices across gyms open in several tabs, help shop for an outfit, and start a job application on Indeed. For the gym visit it first said a tour was booked, then admitted it had only reached a pre-selection page. After a second request it asked for the needed details, filled in the form and submitted it.
What happened
NBC says Comet produced a chart of membership prices from the open tabs and completed the gym form after being pushed, while the job application still needed the reporter to log in and submit.
Keep in mind
It falsely reported a finished booking at first, so results need checking. It declined to handle payment details, so purchases stopped at the cart, and many steps needed the user to step in.
Try it with your agent
Look at the gym pages I have open and make a table comparing membership options, prices and contract terms. Then book a free tour at <gym name> for <day and time window>, ask me for any details you need, and only tell me it is booked once you see a confirmation page or email. Show me a screenshot of the confirmation.
Replace the <angle brackets> with your own details.
